It’s been ten years since the release of Grand Theft Auto 5, and with just days until Rockstar Games finally reveals Grand Theft Auto 6, we can hardly contain our excitement.

Rockstar Games seems to be just as excited as they have started sending out emails to players promoting the upcoming trailer. Capcom USA QA team member Nima on X revealed that he received an email from Rockstar Games regarding the upcoming release of GTA 6.

Nima did not reveal any details about the email, except that the sender was identified as RGSYNC PR and the title was “[Important] Revealing the Next Chapter.”

On the surface, it seems unusual that Rockstar Games would email Capcom’s US employees about their games. However, the two companies have a long-standing relationship, with Capcom responsible for publishing all GTA games in Japan from 2003 to 2008, from GTA 3 to GTA 4.

Nima’s association with Capcom USA may also be coincidental, as they are part of the developer’s press roster that predates their current tenure. Check out previous posts on their X account about getting review copies of games like Saints Row.

Since Nima has provided so little information and there are no other known instances of these emails being sent to others, it is difficult to confirm the validity of the post. But it’s not uncommon for rival studios to communicate with each other as it helps both sides plan releases so they don’t conflict with other games.

Rockstar Games has not yet officially announced the GTA 6 release date, but only says that it will be in early December. With The Game Awards scheduled to take place on December 6th, it will be a huge platform for Rockstar Games to release possibly the most anticipated game trailer ever, but for the sake of the franchise, it could also choose to skip the trailer. attractive enough to not need to use other platforms to gain exposure.
