Stefon Diggs Under Legal Scrutiny After Assault Allegations Surface

New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs is at the center of a growing legal controversy after a former personal chef accused him of assault following a dispute over unpaid wages and a promised business investment. The allegations stem from an incident that reportedly took place at Diggs’ Massachusetts residence in early December.

According to police reports cited by People.com, the accuser claims the disagreement escalated into a physical confrontation in which Diggs allegedly struck her, applied pressure to her neck using his arm, and threw her onto a bed. Authorities later charged Diggs with felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery. The woman initially hesitated to involve law enforcement but ultimately decided to pursue charges.

As part of the investigation, the accuser provided police with alleged text messages she says were sent by Diggs. In the messages, Diggs reportedly refuses to pay the remaining balance owed to her, using aggressive language. However, the texts were not timestamped, leaving questions about when they were sent in relation to the alleged incident.

Diggs has strongly denied all allegations through his legal team, calling the claims “unsubstantiated” and describing the situation as a financial disagreement rather than a violent encounter. His attorney has emphasized that Diggs plans to contest the charges and clear his name through the legal process.

Despite the seriousness of the accusations, both the New England Patriots and the NFL have confirmed they are aware of the situation and are continuing to monitor developments. As of now, Diggs remains eligible to play, and no league discipline has been announced.

Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel addressed the issue publicly, stating that the organization is allowing the legal process to play out while continuing preparations for upcoming games. Vrabel declined to comment on specific details of the case but acknowledged the matter is being taken seriously by the team.

Diggs is scheduled to appear in Dedham District Court on January 23, 2026, where he will be formally arraigned. Until then, the case remains under investigation, and no verdict or disciplinary outcome has been determined.

This is a developing story, and Free World Hype will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
